watercross snowmobile racingTo most people, the sound of birds chirping, the warmth of the sun and clouds drifting by signifies the start of summer and an ideal day outdoors.

For those of us who can't get enough snowmobiling throughtout the entire year, our ideal summer day includes the sun, but then takes a drastic turn at the sound part. 

The IWA visited the Iron Range over the weekend on the 5th stop of the 2016 season. With excellent weather once again, the races were tight as ever.

With one of the best starting line setups Ely has had over the years, holeshots were tough and tight with riders earning that top spot going into the first corner. Riders also faced an almost perfectly set up equalizer buoy that made or broke your race with all out drag races to the finish line. As the season end approaches, some classes are tight with only a few points separating the top 3.

Watercross World Championships 2016This past weekend marked the 40th Annual World Championships held at Memory Lake in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. The sport has come a long way in the last 40 years, along with the continued support of the Grantsburg community.

Watercross snowmobile starting lineThe boys and girls of summer made their first stop on the IWA tour in Moose Lake over the weekend. Racing seemed to jump right back into the swing of things with riders going all out creating a more mid-season tempo racing atmosphere. Some riders picked up right where they left off , others seemed to let the cobwebs of the first race affect their performances.

(June 17, 2015) Brainerd International Raceway was jammed packed over the weekend hosting the IWA Watercross Series, CRA Superbikers and Bracket Drag Racing. The triple event, known as the Wet and Wild Weekend was sure not one to disappoint. With beautiful weather all weekend, the racing atmosphere was on fire with competition as hot as we’ve ever seen on the pond at BIR. Once again the tight and technical course proved to be anyone’s game while a few racers tended to repeat history of past seasons.
