Snowmobile Hall of Fame Announces Hunter Houle Memorial Fund

St. Germain, Wis. (Feb. 20, 2017) – The sport of snowmobile racing lost a shooting star when 18-year-old Hunter Houle died while preparing for the season opening USXC cross-country race on Pine Lake, Minn., Jan. 6, 2017. The son of Snowmobile Hall of Fame inductee Steve Houle (2016), grandson of SHOF inductee Charlie Lofton (1991) and nephew of Mike Houle (2009), Hunter was following in the tracks of greatness while pursuing his passion to race snowmobiles. His race…his lifetime…ended too quickly, but its impact can last for years to come. The Houle family, in partnership with the Snowmobile Hall of [...]

Hibbert & Pihlaja sweep ACS Snocross in Colorado

Tucker Hibbert took two dramatically different routes to sweep Pro Open rounds three and four in Winter Park, Colorado, while Aki Pihlaja straight out dominated both of his finals in Pro Lite. Weather played a big factor at the AMSOIL Championship Snocross tour’s inaugural stop in Colorado, with heavy snow and 40 + mph wind gusts actually forcing a temporary delay in the action on Friday night. Skies cleared on Saturday, however, rapidly dropping temps made snow dust and visibility a concern, while many racers finished the day with frozen fingers and frost-bitten cheeks. Hibbert started Friday night’s main [...]

IWA Watercross Recap from Ely, MN

The IWA visited the Iron Range over the weekend on the 5th stop of the 2016 season. With excellent weather once again, the races were tight as ever. With one of the best starting line setups Ely has had over the years, holeshots were tough and tight with riders earning that top spot going into the first corner. Riders also faced an almost perfectly set up equalizer buoy that made or broke your race with all out drag races to the finish line. As the season end approaches, some classes are tight with only a few points separating the top [...]

IWA Watercross Recap from Moose Lake, MN

The boys and girls of summer made their first stop on the IWA tour in Moose Lake over the weekend. Racing seemed to jump right back into the swing of things with riders going all out creating a more mid-season tempo racing atmosphere. Some riders picked up right where they left off , others seemed to let the cobwebs of the first race affect their performances. Moose Lake proved to be more of a race that set the tone for a few riders while showing others that this season will be tough as ever to make it to the top. [...]
