C&A Pro Skis sponsored race circuit – the International Watercross Association (IWA) will be starting its 40th seasonof racing in just over a month from now. The IWA was formed during what most would consider the “adolescence” of the sport.  Beginning (for all practical purposes) in the summer of 1977 with the first event held in Grantsburg, WI, the sport grew quickly during the first 10 years.  During the World Championship Watercross in 1987, a group of pioneers of the sport put their heads together and decided to form the IWA in an effort to make a uniform set of rules and procedures with which the events could operate for the sake of fair and safe competition.  Much of the original format, primarily the brain child of original IWA President Mark Maki, remains intact to this day.

While the times have progressed and technology has grown, the IWA has remained committed to keeping the level of competition consistent, the rules fair for all participants, and to ensuring the safety of all attendees at IWA events. More information about this race circuit can be found here: http://www.iwaracing.com/default.htm

The Eastern Watercross Association (EWA) is the east coast counterpart to the IWA and they come together in Grantsburg, WI each year to battle for bragging rights and exchange laughs and commraderie. More information on the EWA can be found here: http://www.ewaracing.com/

Along with the watercross circuits in the US, there are also a few in Canada as well. C&A Pro is proud to be the sponsor of the Ontario Watercross Racing (OWR) circuit that is in its third year after inception in 2014. They have four races scheduled for this season. More information on the OWR can be found here: http://www.ontariowatercrossracing.com/

Last, but not least, the CMEQ has is in its fifth year and going strong with four races on the schedule as well. More information on this racing circuit can be found here: http://www.cmeqracing.ca/p-home

Although the snow has left most of us, we are always looking to the future and this should be another great summer of wide open throttles, stiff competition and braaping on!
